If you’ve ever wanted to live in a house with an organic shape and lots of natural light, if your mind wanders to little houses in the woods, if you someday want to try the back-to-nature lifestyle — take a look at what photographer Simon Dale and his family, and others like them, have been able to accomplish.
The family’s starter house was built largely of oak logs and straw bales, floored with reclaimed wooden crate tops, and finished with lime plaster. Solar power is used for “lighting, music and computing.” I like those priorities! The house’s location in Wales makes a naturally cooled fridge practical.
